Who are Serenghetti Guitars?

Serenghetti Guitars is a boutique guitar and bass manufacturer/builder. Each guitar/bass is hand crafted from the ground up using only a small assortment of hand tools.

What is the difference between a one piece and a neck-thru?

Good question, I find myself having to explain this quite a bit, so here we go. When people hear one piece guitar they think it means a neck-thru guitar, which is not the case at all. A neck- thru guitar consists of 3 main pieces of wood, the neck, and 2 body sides or wings as the industry calls them. A one piece guitar however is where I carve the entire guitar out of a very large slab or log itself meaning there is no neck to body attachment or wings. The entire guitar is ONE piece of wood. This one piece construction is what I call the seamless guitar also known as the "Legend" series.

Does every model offer enhanced harmonics from the second fret down?

I stumbled across the extended or enhanced range of harmonics shortly after constructing my first seamless 1 piece guitar, since then I have spent many hours redesigning my neck-thru guitars to achieve the same range of harmonics as well, So I will say yes to the 1 piece guitars and 99% on my neck-thru's.

Is it true one piece guitars have infinite sustain?

Well as close to infinite as possible, they will sustain a very, very long time. Its utterly amazing how much more volume, tone, harmonics, and sustain the 1 piece guitars have. Unless you have tried one out, It's a difficult task to put into words. The sustain on a 1 piece guitar is very violin like in nature and seems to go on and on and on ... you get the point.

I see you promote Kahler tremolo's exclusively. Do you offer other brands?

The answer is yes. I do a lot of repair work for people when in between builds. I either have in stock or can get all the major tremolo units that anyone could ask for. I have all the Floyd Rose models, Wilkinson, ABM, Tone Pros, Gotoh, Schaller, and many more. I even have a very limited supply of N.O.S Kahler "Spyder", and "Killer" fulcrum tremolos which are pristine! Supplies are limited on the fulcrum Kahler trems though, so if you have been looking for one, get one before they are gone forever.

Can I get a custom guitar of my own design made?

As much as I would like to say you'd be crazy not to get a Serenghetti Body shape, I do realize that everyone has their own personal tastes and their opinion of what the perfect guitar should look like. So I do offer the option for my customers to submit their own guitar body or headstock design/drawing. I will not however do an exact copy of a major manufacturer due to legal reasons, though I'll do a similar design.

Does Serenghetti make it's own fretboards?

Yes and no, most of the time, 99%, I do make my fingerboards from scratch, however I have in the past ordered or sent fingerboards to a manufacturing friend of mine to have fret slots cut when I am really swamped. Remember I am a one man shop.

How much does a Serenghetti cost?

Prices for Neck thrus start at $1499 and one piece guitars start at $3500 and up. Here you get more guitar for less.

Can you make custom inlays?

Yes, I do custom inlays, as a matter of fact you will start seeing more inlay work on the Serenghetti guitars in the very near future, as the site keeps getting updated. Also if you have an idea or something you want inlayed on your instrument, you can send pictures of what you would like and I'll inlay that design you submit. Inlay work in very tedious though and the fancier the inlays the more the price goes up.

What sets the Serenghetti apart from most guitars?

I think what sets Serenghetti's apart from other guitars is the tone mainly. There are definite differences that are apparent such as body and headstock design, then some not so apparent details which really makes up most of the differences. One of the big reasons I believe Serenghetti Guitars are so different is, that my guitars are totally handcrafted. There are no cnc machines, nothing is mass produced. I build each guitar by hand, and give each guitar the attention to detail that is required to build a truly amazing instrument, that will inspire you to new musical heights and inspiration.

Does Serenghetti have a payment plan?

Yes, payment plans are available for individuals who may not have the full amount upon order. It's my belief that someone shouldn't have to pass on a Serenghetti guitar just because of money. In this day and time, I realize not everyone has a ton of cash to throw down for a high end boutique guitar. So if you want a Serenghetti you can build in stages as I call it. I prefer payment in full as it speeds up the process of building your instrument, but if that's not feasible I'll gladly work with you using a payment plan.

Where are Serenghetti's made?

All Serenghetti guitars are handcarved in the USA. As a matter of fact, I try to keep everything on Serenghetti guitars USA made. That means trems, knobs, electronics, etc. In some cases that isn't possible though, for example Ebony wood is considered by most to be the best fingerboard wood available, but Ebony wood doesn't grow in America, so sometimes we have no choice. If it's made in America then I stay with American made products.

What made you think of 1 piece guitar?

Very good question, this is a question I get asked all the time. This is the best question that I get asked, I'll explain. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. He is the one who told me to start Serenghetti Guitars, and it is God that granted me the ability, talent, and passion to create these one of a kind guitars. This is how the one piece guitar came about ; I was pondering the fact that Jesus wore a seamless robe. As I sat and pondered, I thought, "How cool it was that it had no seams in it." That is when the light bulb in my mind went off. If there was no seam in a guitar, there would be no break in vibration, which meant more vibratory tone. In a one piece/seamless guitar there is no loss of energy, which equates to the most pure tone imaginable. So that is how the 1 piece/seamless guitar came about.

There are so many tremolos, I'm confused on which one to get? Do you have a personal favorite?

There are quite a few, and that's just a fraction of what is available. There is a lot of choices and every tremolo has it's strong and weak points. First you have to ask yourself if you want to dive bomb the strings to the floor, or just use a whammy bar for subtle bends etc. If you use the tremolo very little, you would probably do better with a Wilkinson or ABM tremolo of that styling. If you want crazy dive bombs then you would do better with a Kahler or Floyd Rose tremolo. Now If you want to know what I use and endorse personally, I recommend the Kahler Pro tremolo. There is a variety of reasons why I choose Kahler personally. /You don't have to route out as much wood for the tremolo, (more wood, more tone) / Much more adjustments that can be made to fit and radius neck / Very easy feel, very smooth Spongier tone, better tonal qualities / Better energy/vibration transfer / Kahler can be ordered using different metals such as stainless steel, brass, and aluminum /Easier to change strings / They just look cool / Made in the USA
